doorjam is the house band of the Franklin Reformed Church
After months of rehearsing, and a couple of attempts to videotape our usual Christmas concert, it is with much regret that the members of doorjam have had to forgo the project for this year. A couple of us had brushes with Covid-infected friends or relatives that made it too risky to get together to sing unmasked.
We're disappointed, as we had hoped to entertain you in the best way we knew how, but we know you'll understand that we had to put safety first. We appreciate your support over the years, and pray we will all be able to come together in the sanctuary next year for a live concert, followed by our traditional soup supper.
We send blessings to you all for good health and happiness in 2022!
Vicky Chalk, Jill Fenske, Jainie Gambaro,
and Joe and Linda Ribaudo
Formed in 1993 as the music leaders of a contemporary worship service, “a different door,” doorjam’s diverse musical backgrounds include gospel, folk, rock, show tunes, marching band, and traditional church music.
Distinctive arrangements and four-part harmonies, both on their original music and covers, have been combined to create the unique “doorjam sound.” The group is comprised of Vicky Chalk, Jill Fenske, and Jainine Gambaro on vocals; Linda Ribaudo, vocals and percussion; Joe Ribaudo, bass guitar; and Martin Williams, guitar and ukulele. Performing throughout the tri-state region, the group’s venues have included local and regional church concerts, worship services, retreats and special events, as well as secular community gatherings and outdoor music festivals. doorjam has also performed for the New Jersey Red Cross Telethon on cable television, and appears annually at the Ocean Grove Gospel Music Series.
Discography includes “a thousand echoes,” which features original music and the group’s signature vocal harmonies. This CD follows their well-received Advent and Christmas album, “Carols at the Door.” Also available for bookings is “A Pilgrim’s Psalm” a contemporary Oratorio for Holy Week. The 50-minute multimedia production focuses on the events in the Bible that begin with Palm Sunday and end at the empty tomb on Easter morning. The original songs bring the story to life in contemporary musical form, and are partnered with oil paintings by New Jersey artist, Lucy Janjigian.
doorjam will spark your next gathering with a program that will truly inspire and entertain your audience. Contact us soon for available dates and pricing at the church office 973.667.7022.
